PERFORMANCE: MiCaddy combines the convenience and performance of a more expensive electric golf buggy with the maneuverability of a light weight manual buggy. Over 4 years of personal use, feedback from customers, and several trips to China to work with my supplier, has enabled me to personally develop MiCaddy to suit Australian golf courses.   

AFTER SALES SERVICE: The simplicity in design of the MiCaddy electric buggy makes after sales service easy to administer as the various components, including the controller, are very easy to replace. I personally attend to any after sales service requirements in the Perth area. In the case of areas outside the greater Perth Metropolitan region the required replacement part/s will be sent by priority post with simple, easy to understand instructions on how to fit the replacement part/s. If the unit is still under warranty and professional assistance is required, I will arrange for a suitable local party to attend to the matter and I will pay for that service.  

PRICE: MiCaddy has been developed with the price in mind to make an affordable electric buggy available to more golfers.  MiCaddy retails for $497 ex Perth which is about half the price of the lowest priced conventional electric buggies that have been on the market in Australia for many years and only a little dearer than electric buggies sold through online stores and auctions where warranty and after sales service can be non existant or questionable.   

C-Tick: MiCaddy electric golf buggies meet the EMC standards required to legally sell in Australia and carry the C-Tick N15664. It is illegal to sell electric golf buggies and battery chargers in Australia without complying to the Australian standard AS/NZS 4251.1 "Electromagnetic compatibility generic emission standard Part 1 : Residential, commercial and light industry: All items should carry the appropriate C-Tick at the point of sale. Refer to www.acma.gov.au/WEB/HOMEPAGE/PC=HOME . It is worth asking any seller of these items if the buggy and charger they sell has their C-Tick number attached. If they are unable to confirm that this is the case it may be reasonable to assume that they have avoided the substantial cost of the required test and may also cut costs in other areas. Buyer beware.

THINKING OF BUYING A USED ELECTRIC GOLF BUGGY?

BUYER BEWARE

1) Is after sales service available for the brand of buggy you are considering? Many Chinese made electric buggies that sell online have little or no warranty and no after sales service. Even the top of the range electric golf buggies sometimes require servicing or repairs.

2)  You may think that the asking price is reasonable however all batteries have a limited life and can be expensive to replace. Ask the seller to have the battery load tested if it is over 3 months old. This will reveal the genuine condition of the battery. For example, you may buy a used buggy for $220 but if you have to replace the battery soon after buying the buggy it is not such a great deal. A good quality deep cycle battery could cost about $150 resulting in a total cost to you of $370. For only another $127 you could have a new MiCaddy electric golf buggy with genuine warranty and ongoing after sales service delivered to you anywhere in Australia.
